Being grateful for life is important. You may have noticed that you don’t always focus on those situations where things go according to plan.
In doing so, you often reflect on those occasions when things go wrong. How often are you frustrated by Unrealistic expectations?
The tendency to pay attention only to the failures of life leads to “blindness”-you simply can’t see all the gifts you constantly receive from fate.
Some people mistake the gifts of life for the result of their own actions. But try to think about it for a minute – in a million ways you get the support of the outside world every day without paying attention. You brew coffee in the morning that was picked, bagged, and delivered to your favorite store by others. Your phone serves you thanks to talented inventors, engineers and salespeople.
As you practice yoga, think about the fact that you have the opportunity to learn it in this form because of the work of several generations of yogis – it is their gift to you. You go out in the morning to have clean streets because the janitors clean them – and it doesn’t matter that it’s their job, you personally benefit from their work, and that’s a reason to be grateful. Continue this list on your own–you probably have something to add to it.
By recognizing this interconnectedness between all the pieces of the world, you can experience the delight and pleasant excitement of knowing this wonder. The skill of appreciation, of nurturing gratitude leads to boundless joy and is one of the most effective practices of consciousness transformation.
The path brings you closer to the realization of the Absolute when you have the ability to appreciate what you have – family, friends, a roof over your head, etc.
Try to notice the gifts of life and give thanks for them, give up the belief that you are owed something, and you will see gratitude grow within you.
When you see the interconnectedness of everything in the world, you begin to notice that there is a helping hand coming from all directions-the world is really supporting you in a variety of ways.
To realize this, you will have to get rid of your ego cage, but it will be worth it: you will be able to understand that everything in your life is the result of the deeds, actions, care, labor and mere existence of countless people, the result of the game of chemical reactions and natural phenomena.
Gratitude is not only about appreciation, but also about your interconnectedness with every part of the world.
By learning to be grateful for every moment of your life, you will stop worrying so much about things that don’t meet your expectations. As you cultivate gratitude for the support and gifts of destiny, you will become more generous, and you will want to give back even a fraction of what you owe. You will become happier.
