Such a distant and near future, how to live with optimism

Such a distant and near future, how to live with optimism Articles

Each person consciously or subconsciously longs for the details of their future. Many of us find refuge in it. The future can always be carried over that which one does not want to do in the present – to build a house, to establish relationships with loved ones, to look for a new job. It seems to us beautiful and beckons with mystery and unpredictability.

Rejoice in the present

Enjoying the present

Each of us has heard more than once that we should rejoice in today, enjoy every moment, but all the same human thought is directed to the future, as if there is calmness and fulfillment of all our desires waiting for each of us.

In today it is necessary to act, to live actively and to analyze one’s own actions and desires, and there, in the beyond, all will surely be well. And many people live in this hope and do not want to change anything.

It is so convenient to postpone to the future all that life requires from us in the present moment and to make promises to myself and others that in a year or two or ten years I will take everything into my own hands, get the desired position, make peace with my relatives and begin to appreciate every day that I live.

Many people, encountering problems and disappointments in real life, are happy to rush off into the distant future, looking for solace in their fantasies. And people who talk about a glorious time in which love and order will reign become the idols of many of us.

But reality sobered us up and brought us back to Earth, where there are many problems and worries, but no less happiness and joy. It is important for a person living in the here and now to be able to live for today, not to dream of the future as a lifeline.

The Mystery of Tomorrow

Living in the now

If any of us were given the opportunity to lift the veil of tomorrow’s mystery, most would probably agree. But then, disappointment awaits us, for the interest of life lies precisely in not knowing what lies ahead. This enhances creativity. Much calmer perceives the truth about the future of all mankind.

Even if predicted the coming apocalypse, it still does not cause much concern, because such predictions concerning the human race as a whole, few people take seriously, and for the company somehow more fun to die. When a teacher scolds a particular student in class, he offended. And, if the accusatory speech is directed at the whole class, it does not cause bitterness and anxiety in most people. It is the same with predictions.

Today, every self-respecting historian or scientist makes predictions about the Earth’s future. What will it be? All magazines and newspapers discuss the inevitability of the coming end of the world. All TV channels discuss this subject. Somebody takes these predictions seriously, and somebody just laughs at scientists’ warnings.

Human destiny resembles the endlessness and mystery of the ocean, but at the same time, it is similar to the river, squeezed between two banks. Each such river has its own destiny with its own joys and experiences.

But sooner or later many rivers flow into one common ocean, which is diverse and beautiful: there are waters bound by eternal ice, but also areas distinguished by warmth and tranquility. And there are rivers that are never destined to make it into one common ocean-their moisture will evaporate in the sun or become a small body of water.

The need to live in the present

To know a person’s future is beyond prediction. They are only guesses, predictions, and speculations of dreamers. They may or may not come true. It is necessary to live in the present, and leave the right to be a great mystery for each of us, which, most likely, is not even worth trying to solve.
