Meditation as death

Meditation as death Articles

Man is a spirit that is immersed in the embrace of time. And if a person is inattentive, he will observe only one part of himself – the part that is mortal and temporary.

That part lives and breathes, but if you are more attentive to your breath, you can recognize another part of yourself, your spirit, which is incapable of dying because it is not born. Be attentive as you breathe out and in.
Feel the tiny edge, the pause that is always there between the new inhalation and the exhalation already made. That moment is the hair that separates everyone from death, because the next breath may not happen…

Yes, each of us has only one moment before death – one familiar breath. If you have already realized this moment, if you have felt this tiny pause, look around, and you will see that in this moment your emotions and your thoughts simply do not exist – they disappear, they are gone. When you exhale, your ego goes out of you with the air you exhale. When you breathe in, it comes back out again. In the moment of pause, you can be alone with the spirit, you can detect it.

And if you’ve managed to do this – it’s in your power to do everything not to lose it on the next breath, then you can be в silence of presence, no matter where you are. It’s as if we die to the outside world when we withdraw our attention from it during meditation. We die, so that within ourselves we may be reborn, and return to the world new and even more alive.
